Rest in Peace, the King of Pop - Michael Jackson.
It's been years since Michael Jackson was the center of the universe. He still could make headlines and get airtime on cable news and entertainment shows with the announcement of a performance or rumors about his financial problems. But not like he used to.
Once upon a time, Jackson was not just a singer, not just a pop star -- he was the defining figure of our global culture. He set records for selling records. He ignited full-on frenzy anywhere he went in the world. He captivated the public imagination with his dynamic performances and his alternately flamboyant and shy personal style. He was the whole world's dream date.
Even when the infatuation turned sour, the fascination remained. His media ubiquity bred a popular backlash. Increasingly grandiose and eccentric behavior made him a veritable cottage industry for comedians. Most significantly, the squeaky-clean image he'd enjoyed since delighting us as a Motown child prodigy was undone by high-profile charges of pedophilia. Yet still we paid attention.
Just a little less so.
And over the years, a little less than that.
The news of Jackson's sudden death Thursday at age 50 brings him back to the center of our cultural consciousness.
There'll be mourning and memorials, tributes to his artistic greatness, gratitude for the pleasure he brought to our lives. Or will it scoff at the King of Pop, who sold unprecedented numbers of those obsolete pieces of plastic called LPs and CDs but was largely just a commercial creation of passing significance? Or will Jackson's legacy fall through the cracks between those poles, his influence in singing styles and the conventions of performance becoming so pervasive -- as they are passed down through Justin Timberlake and countless succeeding acolytes -- that they become all but invisible over time?
His was, in many ways, a career like no other -- with its storybook beginning (early family success with the Jackson 5), a stunning transformation (the burst into maturity with his 1979 masterpiece "Off the Wall"), a dizzying peak (the megamillion sales of "Thriller"), and eventual scandal and fall.
And yet we can look to some other figures from the entertainment world for partial comparisons. There's Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, one of the biggest stars of the silent-film era, undone by accusations of rape and a manslaughter trial tied to incidents after a drunken party, and mostly forgotten since.
There's Mike Tyson, similar to Jackson (stay with me here) in that his rise to dominance of his field was fueled, it seems, by the same childhood insecurities that led him to unravel.
And of course, there's the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley. A transformative figure to a greater degree even than Jackson, he, too, retreated from the pressures at fame's outer limits and into a realm of self-destructive eccentricity.
Once, in the 1980s, George Clinton made an interesting comment in an interview with the music/social critic Greg Tate. He suggested that the reason Michael Jackson kept changing his facial appearance (through repeated cosmetic surgeries, it appeared, though Jackson frequently denied this) was that his image had become so ubiquitous he'd grow sick of seeing it everywhere. The only way Jackson could maintain a sense of his own identity as a person rather than a product, in other words, was by changing his face, thereby staying a step ahead of his own marketing machine.
Whether there's any truth to that notion, it's a fascinating dilemma to ponder. And who else but Jackson has had to face such a strange quandary?
In the 1987 book "Glory Days: Bruce Springsteen in the 1980s," critic and biographer Dave Marsh examined Springsteen's career in the context of the creation of his album "Born in the U.S.A."
His thesis was that Springsteen had looked for a way to do what some of his greatest musical heroes had not managed: to not only reach the pinnacle of popular success, critical respect and cultural impact, but also to be able to come back down again unscathed, as a working artist and an emotionally and physically healthy person.
Springsteen reformulated his approach into something more broadly appealing without diluting its essential character, and he has continued to maintain a vibrant career that affords him the freedom to move from grand statements to intimate, offhand sketches -- or in any other direction he likes.
By contrast, Jackson's time at the top of the heap seemed to leave him with only a hunger for greater heights of quantifiable success. And though his albums continued to be studded with the signs of his sublime talent, they increasingly sounded strained and fractured, trying to be all things to all radio marketing demographic categories. He couldn't seem to make his way down from that mountaintop of adulation to a place of stability, normalcy, comfort and creativity.
Now it's up to history to decide if, for Jackson's legacy, the center of the universe turned out to be empty space.

Boku no serenade wa hosin daaa ~
I decided to write out this puzzle game. If you don't want to do, don't do it. I just did out of bordom anyway. Have Fun !
First story:

On the 1st day. The month of April. Three kids played a prank. four children, two teachers and one granny were caught dead. Only two kids, a cat and two granny survived. The kids were Isabella, Pricella and Tommy. Isabella bombed two classrooms, Pricella poisoned two old folk's home and Tommy set out fire on two playgrounds. Both Pricella and Tommy got caught in action. Only Isabella was left together with her five boyfriends and family of two. Nine days have past and she lost everything. Ten days of hunger and homeless days passed by. She then decided to own up. Now she has to serve eleven years in jail before she is sentenced to death.

Monday - had wushu. came back and packed room. then half way through got distracted then got lazy. so never pack finish.
Tuesday - had to go do project. so went until afternoon came back. then since limbs were kinda aching, can't really bend down ...[ excuses ><] ..oh well, i was kinda tired and slept the whole afternoon .... sighh~
Wednesday ( today ) - extraction and rested the whole day.
thursday need to rest again but also need to start doing some homework! grrr ..
friday - do project again .. but thenn ...COME BACK HOME NEEEEEED TO DO HOMEWORK !!
sigh ...
don't know wheather i'm sleep deprived or ..just plain, naturally a sleep-er?
